Checkmate is a free WordPress theme available for download here. It includes advanced features usually reserved for premium themes. Checkmate is being used on many top sites and in several languages. The design was kept minimalistic for flexibility and ease of customizing. The layout is customizable and is used by blogs and magazine type websites. At it’s release it was one of very few advanced WordPress themes available for free.
