I’ve put up a live demo of Techno Boxes today. I haven’t browser tested it yet so there isn’t a download, but it is coming soon.
It may seem very basic but I believe if used right it will make one slick looking blog, and I mean slick like a used car salesman slick!
It has been a little slow around here as I’ve been working hard on my premium theme. But to keep myself from getting burnt out I decided to spend a little time on a free theme, but I also wanted to something different. The result is Techno Boxes. Continue Reading
Well I’ve been working on a premium theme for some time now, and it is to the stage where I can finally show a preview. The cool insider codename is Chocolate, but that won’t be the final name( the theme started out as an ugly all brown color theme ). The interface will be very clean, minimalistic and professional. The interface really shows off the content and it is designed to hold a lot of content.
The premium part really shows in the theme options. Continue Reading
I am not a fan of Internet Explorer, never have been. And not just because I’m a web developer, because its a horrible browser. Things got better with IE7, it wasn’t as much a headache to deal with. When I started reading about IE8 it felt like IE7 all over again, I was excited, finally Microsoft may not have a completely worthless browser! And faster than you can say browser sniffing, A List Apart released this article about IE8’s new little meta tag “feature.”
Now I’m no web standards guru, but I know enough to know this is a bad idea. And it looks like I’m in good company. This is browser version targeting, for one browser. More work(totally unnecessary work) for Internet Explorer…again. Completely against everything web standards Continue Reading
A slightly late congrats to the Automattic team for cleaning up at the crunchies!
Eric Meyer has updated his reset CSS styles again. For those that don’t know, these reset CSS styles so you have a consistent starting point across most browsers. The updates are little ones but they make good sense. I always use these reset styles and I’m glad that Eric is updating and thinking about them. You can read more about the changes and get the code on his site.
I don’t think people realize just how many splogs there are, or even what a splog is. Splogs scrape content from other blogs( usually through RSS) and post it as their own(usually), loading it up with ads for a quick buck.
From maxpower.ca:
The total number of blogs out there passed 50 million a month ago. 175,000 new blogs are created every day. There about 5.3 million blog postings per day, seventy percent of which are actually ’spam’ from a splog. In other words, seventy percent of all blog postings are spam (State of The Blogosphere, 2006)
But these splogs are quickly set up and likewise can be easily detected using wordpress plugins. There are two popular plugins that combat splogs and scrapping RSS in very different ways: AntiLeech and Digital Fingerprint. Continue Reading
This theme was released on my personal blog crackedshell.net but I’ve decided to move it here.
First this wordpress theme is free to use on your blog, I would appreciate a link back in your footer but it is not necessary. If you have any problems or comments please leave a comment or email me so I can improve myself and the theme!
Second I built this theme on the Blueprint CSS framework. Whats this mean? Well if you are familiar with CSS Continue Reading
